‘Suburbs in Transition’ – Contemporary Queensland

I collaborated with Deborah van der Plaat, Nicole Sully and Andrew Wilson from the ATCH Research Centre and School of Architecture at the University of Queensland to produce present-day images of some of the homes found in the Corley collection.

The series of images themed ‘Suburbs in Transition‘ was set within the UQ-curated Recollecting Home and contrasted the homes of the 60s and 70s with their contemporary counterparts, thus capturing  incremental ‘moments of change’ in the progressive and somewhat cyclical development of Brisbane’s suburbs. The contemporary buildings are an expression of the densification of Brisbane that occurred through the addition of houses to existing blocks, and the erection of multi residential townhouse complexes or low-rise apartments on amalgamated blocks.
